Ana, Sofia and Alberta like to dress up by the river. When their mothers go out to buy bread, they sneak away with their favourite dresses in one hand and a good snack in the other. They meet in that hideaway they have been going to since they were little girls and bathe their feet in the riverbank while they taste the house wine, the one that Adelino's tavern serves to locals and foreigners and the one that he reserves for them in exchange for babysitting his little girls.
With a little of the usual food, some makeup and lots of fresh air, the hours pass until they choose their outfit for the evening.
The one they will wear when they return, when the autumn festivities begin in the village. And they will always arrive at the right time.
