How to choose a guest dress for a communion

Cómo elegir el vestido de invitada para una comunión - Bruna

How should I dress for a communion if I am a guest?

When in doubt, it will always be more elegant to err on the side of being underdressed than on the side of being overdressed, and above all, to go unnoticed if you are a guest at a communion. We must not forget that this is a religious, family-oriented and generally sober event. The most important thing is that the entire communion guest look is harmonious, balanced and aesthetically coherent. As with wedding guest dresses, it is important to know the shapes and cuts that suit us and the colours that suit us best. We must bear in mind when choosing a communion guest dress that the length should always be short or midi, also applicable if the look chosen is a skirt with a wedding guest blouse or top.

Tips for choosing a guest dress for a communion

The vast majority of the dresses take place in the morning, so we will follow the protocol that we also apply for morning weddings, choose a short or midi-length communion dress. An option that we really like and that is very practical is a suit with a jacket or two-piece top and trousers. This way we forget about tights, tanning, etc. and we will be much more comfortable in May or April with a look that covers our legs and the absence of a tan.

Our recommendations

We love to recommend dresses in light tones like cream or pastel for this type of event, as we think that this is the most elegant option without a doubt, and the same goes for two-piece suits or two-piece top and pants sets. Pastel or powdery colors are a sure hit for this type of celebration.
As for sleeves, we like French or elbow-length sleeves, as is the case with the Oda dress, which is made of a very comfortable fabric and a very flattering pattern and is available in various colours. A lovely option is the Fifi in aqua, a very light blue or the Fiona in a darker blue. And for warmer weather, the Aurora dress in cream is wonderful with its short puff sleeves and bias cut skirt. The Genevieve dress in soft, powdery tones, specifically available in mint and peach, is perfect for the occasion with a fresh, light fabric.
As for the length, we think the midi is the perfect and most recommended, such as the Nicola dress in bone color or in powder pink, which are bestsellers.

If you prefer the suit jacket option, the star suit is always the Bibi+Libi model season after season, guaranteed elegance. If you feel more comfortable with flared and long trousers, the Hailey suit will be your ally. And if on the other hand you prefer the cut of cropped but fitted trousers, the Martha suit is perfect for you. Still don't know what to wear to a communion? Well, the Cornelia suit is your best option in any of its two versions: palazzo or skinny trousers. In a very romantic and flattering powder green tone, wear it with our Kali bodysuit or Amy top.
If you prefer the two-piece option, the Doris or Maca set, either with French or short sleeves, is perfect. They consist of an asymmetric cape-style top with long, straight trousers, very comfortable and elegant. Available in ecru/cream and in soft colours such as lilac, pastel yellow or aqua blue.

Our best advice is simply this: when you look in the mirror for the last time before going to the ceremony you should feel beautiful and elegant and that will be what determines the success of your look... your attitude!
